Join us for Star Party Campout, a multi-day photography retreat along the Cowlitz River near Randle, WA—timed with the peak of the year’s biggest meteor shower. Enjoy riverside camping, scenic hikes, and night sky adventures in an inspiring setting for photographers of all levels. Days start late morning with guided hikes led by reps from Canon, Fujifilm, OM System, Sigma, Sony, Tamron and more. Evenings feature astrophotography sessions with expert guidance and access to loaner gear. Cool off in the river, relax at basecamp, and join us for nature walks and morning yoga. Amenities include potable water, port-a-potties, and cell service. Food is not included, so plan to bring your own or explore nearby dining options. Programming runs August 13–16.

Your registration includes access to Star Party Campout activities throughout the weekend, including educational sessions, guided photography experiences, presentations from our ambassadors and brand partners, community campsite gatherings, and unforgettable night sky photography opportunities.Please note that participation in hikes and outings within national forest and parks requires advance registration which will be released for advanced registration in July. Due to permit restrictions and group size limitations at these locations, space may be limited for certain activities.
The campground is privately owned and operated by Cowlitz River Rentals. Glazer’s Camera has reserved a dedicated section of the 70-acre property exclusively for Star Party Campout attendees. Each campsite is approximately 25' x 25' and is situated within a wooded area of the campground, providing varying amounts of shade throughout the day depending on the location of your site. The campground offers a natural setting with easy access to event activities, community gathering spaces, and the surrounding outdoor recreation opportunities.
Yes. Each registration includes one campsite space within our designated Star Party Campout area. Each campsite includes two (2) people, each MUST be registered. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis at ticketing, which starts on June 8, 2026 at noon PT.
Yes, but every attendee MUST have a valid registration. Space is limited to 2 people per campsite. If you are bringing someone who will not participate in any activities, but just wants to camp and hang, please reach out to us at [email protected]. Registration also helps us manage campsite and program capacity as we have permits outside the campground that limits the number of people per activity.
Yes. RVs and trailers are welcome in designated camping areas. Space may be limited, so please review registration details for size restrictions and accommodations.
No food will not be provided at the campgrounds. There is however a grocery store and a few restaurants only minutes away from the campsite.
Cell service is available at camp, but many of the places we will be going to shoot will not have service so please plan accordingly.
A burn ban is in effect in this region so campfires are not permitted. Propane burners are allowed.
Electricity will not be available at the campground, so we strongly recommend bringing portable power banks for your devices and camera.
There will be several port-a-potties on-site to use as a restroom.
No, there will not be showers available on-site.
Pets are generally welcome at the campground; however, they must remain under control and follow all campground regulations. Please be considerate of fellow campers and nighttime photography activities. Pets are not permitted in the national parks where many of our activities will be taking place. You are not allowed to leave your pet unattended at anytime.
Yes. We understand travel schedules vary. Detailed check-in information and arrival windows will be provided before the event.
Yes! While the stars are the main attraction, we'll also offer daytime activities including hikes, sunrise outings, educational sessions, gear demonstrations, and opportunities to connect with fellow photographers.
Registration information for programming will be sent in July to give all attendees a fair chance of signing up for some of our capacity constrained outings. We will announce when this page will be going live to ticket holders in advance. Once the announced date arrives, the capacity constrained programs will be first come first served for registration. Advanced registration will be required for these programs. This will come at no additional cost.
